Training

11.24.2016
Under the "BRGM Campus" label and in its capacity as the national geological survey organisation, the BRGM provides support to higher education in the geosciences field. Our training branch, BRGM Formation, offers short continuing training courses for professionals.

The BRGM disseminates its scientific competences and techniques through training courses that include:

  • Higher education diploma courses (BRGM Campus) in the geosciences, by providing training support and forging partnerships with higher education establishments;
  • Continuing vocational training with the BRGM training branch: a catalogue of short and customised courses in the BRGM's core topic area, geology, and its many applications in environmental and spatial planning fields.

Higher education diploma courses from BRGM Campus

As the national geological survey organisation, the BRGM provides support to higher education in the geosciences field. To do so, it develops courses in cooperation with academic players to support training for future specialists in different fields involving soils and subsoils.

These activities, all conducted under the "BRGM Campus" label, aim to:

  • deliver, in close cooperation with universities and the grandes écoles, BRGM training in the geosciences through courses run by higher education establishments for technicians, engineers, undergraduates and postgraduates;
  • deliver these training courses through educational partnerships with academic players, businesses and the national geological survey organisations of other countries.

"BRGM Campus" thus extends the training scope of the National School of Applied Geosciences (ENAG) to cover the entire higher education spectrum (first degree, masters and PhD), through the following courses in particular:

  • A vocational first degree course to train depollution technicians for work in contaminated sites, at the University of Paris-East in Marne-la-Vallée.
  • A 2nd-year Master's course (ENAG-2GR) in "Geology and sustainable mineral resource management" in partnership with the University of Orléans-OSUC
  • Doctoral theses co-supervised by the BRGM in partnership with some 40 research labs.

Continuing professional training with the BRGM's training branch, BRGM Formation

Logo BRGM Formation

Our aim at BRGM Formation is to meet the needs of the economy, the environment and society in a changing world where the goal is to achieve sustainable development and social and environmental responsibility.

Our courses are therefore organised around the BRGM's core topic of geology and its many applications in environmental and spatial planning fields: geology, groundwater resources, geothermal energy, mineral resources, polluted sites and soils, waste and environmental assessments, natural risks and climate change.
