The DEEPEGS symposium "How to enhance deep geothermal well productivity?" aims at discussing new approaches and methods to improve and to assess the improvement of the well productivity in the field of deep geothermal reservoirs. There will be a strong focus on tight geothermal reservoir & low permeability formations.

It is a Horizon 2020 event of the DEEPEGS project.

Three main streams of Symposium

Well design, drilling & completion

Designing the well to optimise the connection with the reservoir.

Keywords: well well designs, drilling, completion, connectivity, horizontal/deviated trajectories, multilaterals, small diameters laterals, steered trajectory, smart geothermal wells…

Enhancement technologies and methods

Challenges and solutions to enhance the productivity index of the wells.

Keywords: EGS, injectivity/productivity index enhancement, stimulations…

Well performance prediction and assessment

Assessing the efficiency of the well enhancement.

Keywords: trajectory/architecture optimisation, assessment methods, prediction methods, well performance, geophysics, geochemistry, tracer tests, injectivity/productivity index test, well test procedures…

Abstract submission

  • Oral sessions: Speakers are invited to present their on-going work during a 12-minutes talk and a 3-minutes discussion.
  • Poster sessions: Posters can be seen and discussed all over the workshop and during specific dedicated time periods.

Please submit your abstract (maximum 400 words, oral or poster) to the following address before 15 September 2019: SymposiumDEEPEGS@brgm.fr
