Demand for metals in the energy production, distribution, storage and use sectors (Li, Ni, Co, Mn, Cu, Pb, Al, U, etc.) in increasing with the changing energy landscape.

The Société de l’industrie minérale, on an initiative from its MiME working group (Mineralurgy and Extractive Metallurgy), hosted a one-day seminar on these metals and developments and innovations in their metallurgy.

The BRGM chaired several sessions during the event:

  • 9.45 am - "Metals for the future of our energy", with authors François Clin and Gaëtan Lefebvre
  • 11.00 am - "New economics of copper, nickel and gold through bioleaching", with author Anne-Gwenaëlle Guezennec
